Ghost-X is operated by Ghost X LLC, an Oregon limited liability company.
Ghost-X ("we," "us," "our," or "the platform") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses it, including parents, adult users, and the children they oversee through supervised profiles. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This is a working draft prepared for Ghost-X. Before this policy goes live for real users, it should be reviewed by a qualified attorney or a legal compliance service, particularly given the platform's handling of children's data and payment information.
1. Who This Policy Covers
Ghost-X accounts are created by adults ("Parent Accounts"). A Parent Account may set up one or more supervised child profiles within it. Every feature accessible to a child profile is governed by the account-holding adult's login and settings — children do not create independent accounts.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Email address
- Password (stored as a securely hashed value — we never store or have access to your plain-text password)
- Display name (optional)
- Birthday (optional, used for birthday features with friends)
- Premium subscription status
2.2 Child Profile Information
For each supervised child profile a parent creates, we collect:
- A name or nickname chosen by the parent
- Your confirmation that you are 13 years of age or older, and the date you confirmed it
We do not require or collect a child's full legal name, exact date of birth, home address, or government-issued identification.
2.3 Content You Provide
- Comments posted on Ghost-X pages and on InstaTak content
- Photos and videos uploaded to InstaTak
- Messages sent through Ghost-X's messaging feature
- Bookmarks and saved items
- Conversations with Ghost Super I, our built-in assistant
2.4 Activity & Safety Logs
To support the parental controls and age-gating built into Ghost-X, we log:
- Attempts by a supervised profile to access age-restricted content, including whether access was blocked
- Comments posted by a supervised profile that exceed the free-form word limit for that age tier and require parental approval
- General activity such as pages visited and comments posted, used to power the personal History feature
2.5 Payment Information
Ghost-X Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details on our own servers — that information is handled directly by Stripe in accordance with its own privacy policy and security standards.
2.6 Ghost Super I Conversations
Ghost Super I is Ghost-X's built-in assistant. When you use it:
- The messages you type, along with Ghost Super I's replies, are stored in your account so you can see your chat history
- To generate each reply, your message and a limited amount of your recent conversation with Ghost Super I are sent to our AI service provider, Anthropic (see Section 4)
- We count how many messages you send each day in order to apply the daily message limits for free and Premium accounts
- Supervised profiles in younger age tiers receive a restricted version of Ghost Super I that is limited to help with Ghost-X features and basic online safety
Please don't share sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or passwords) in Ghost Super I conversations. If you paste a resume into Ghost Super I for feedback, the contents of that resume are processed and stored the same way as any other message.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and maintain your account and any supervised child profiles
- To apply age-appropriate restrictions and parental approval workflows
- To operate features you use, such as messaging, bookmarks, comments, and InstaTak
- To notify a parent when a supervised profile attempts to access restricted content or posts a comment requiring approval
- To process Premium subscription payments
- To provide Ghost Super I replies, keep your Ghost Super I chat history, and apply daily message limits
- To maintain and improve the security and functioning of the platform
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information or your child's information to third parties.
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Stripe, solely to process Premium subscription payments
- With Anthropic, our AI service provider, solely to generate Ghost Super I replies. Messages sent to Ghost Super I, and a limited amount of recent conversation for context, are transmitted to Anthropic for processing under Anthropic's commercial terms and privacy policy Under those commercial terms, Anthropic may not use this content to train its AI models; Anthropic handles and retains it as described in its own privacy policy.
- When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order
- To protect the safety of a user, particularly a minor, where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent harm
5. Children's Privacy
Ghost-X is built to be used by families, with children accessing the platform only through a supervised profile created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without that supervision.
Parents can, at any time:
- View what content a supervised profile has posted or attempted to access
- Approve or decline comments flagged as exceeding a supervised profile's default posting limits
- Request deletion of a child's profile and associated data
Ghost-X is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Creating an account requires confirming that you are 13 years of age or older. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. 6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including password hashing and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and activity information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
8. Your Choices
- You can update or delete your display name, birthday, and other profile information at any time
- You can request a copy of the information we hold about your account or your child's profile
- You can request that we delete your account or a child's profile
9. Cookies & Sessions
Ghost-X uses session cookies to keep you logged in and to remember which supervised profile is currently active. These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and are not used for third-party advertising tracking.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
